You are bidding on an un-restored Studebaker Avanti R-1. This car is complete and original as built in May of 1963 as far as we can tell. The car has the correct Carter Aluminum 4 barrel carb which is recently re-built by Jon Myer. The mechanicals are very good. The front disc breaks are in good working order. The car shows it's age in finishes with worn seats, paint not perfect, etc., but nothing outside of normal wear and tear. I've tried to show the car well in the photos, good and bad. The major work to do is replace the hog troughs which are OK, but not great. I believe this would cost about $3,000, and then you would have a nice driver, and if you wanted to give it a re-paint and new interior, you would have a gem. I have had the car for about 5 years and have been slowly putting the mechanics in shape, but I have never really had the time to use it, and I don't see more time in the future, so I have decided to let it go. The car has not been driven in about 2 years, so it will start and idle OK, but am sure it will need some tune-ups for daily driving. There are lots of extra parts that go with the car including a new tachometer, Studebaker glass headlight covers, and new electric window motors. I am happy to answer any questions. Happy bidding. Buyer to arrange shipping as necessary. Deposit of $500 within 24hrs of successful bidding to PayPal. Balance by PayPal or cash on taking possession of the car. Serious buyers only, there is a low reserve. Passenger side is OK, driver side is shot. I recommend doing them both.
