This 1964 Studebaker Avanti was restored in the late 1980's. It had a complete engine rebuild and tranny rebuild. It was completely repainted and interior was redone. It is still in great condition because it has always been garage kept and primarily driven to car shows and occasionally just for a weekend cruise. However it is not completely perfect like a brand new car because it's not a brand new car. It still looks and runs great for a 46 year old car. This vehicle has only had one owner outside of my family. My grandfather was the original selling dealer and he purchased it back from the original owner in 1984. I have the original bill of sale from when it was new. This is a nice Avanti with all original drivetrain that came in the car. It has some minor mechanical issues that I don't want to attempt to fix because I am not a mechanic and don't want to do more harm than good to the car. It has a slight brake fluid leak underneath(I think around the distribution block). I just put a new master cylinder on cause it was leaking and it was easy to replace. Also the brake pedal is kind of stiff. I talked to a person who knows about studebakers and I was told that it's just the brake pads. He told me that they have a stop on them that is to protect the rotors from getting damaged when the pads are worn and it causes the pedal to be stiff. Other than that there are no major mecahnical problems known. Please feel free to call me with specific questions. My number is 540-974-1891 and I am available until 7:30 p.m. eastern time. I will not ship the car and I expect payment in cash within 7 days of auction end. No checks. Also I reserve the right to end auction at any time as car is listed locally as well.
