I am reluctantly listing this car due to circumstance and the new owner is going to be incredibly pleased. I have owned this car for a year and it was purchased from a family friend who was the original family that bought it brand new from Tom Sherlock motors in Alhambra CA. This car has spent its entire pampered life in southern CA so there are zero rust issues to consider. The car was bought on March 4th 1964 and is titled as a 1964 model but it is not one of the transition 63's. I have put a new battery in it, and four new BFG T/A radials on the wheels. The Wheels really are the story of this car, The original owner bought these wheels when the car was new and they are rare as hens teeth. They are real Knock off mounted aluminum wheels made by Ansen Automotive Engineering in the early 60's. I believe they are worth a few thousand dollars by themselves. There are five wheels so there is no problem if you get a flat tire. I have bought and will include a new lead hammer for removal and installation. I also will include 4 original Avanti wheels and wheel covers so you may return it to stock for Studebaker shows if you wish. the car features the original peppered red and black carpet that is rare in itself. The interior has been redone years ago in the original factory vinyl covering. The original cardboard headliner needs replacing but is not drooping like alot of them that i have seen. The door panels look good but need the cardboard backing replaced to make the trim fit properly. The car has factory Air conditioning and heating and it has just been serviced with R12 and blows real cold. The driver power window does not work and I suspect it needs a new motor but it may be a switch problem. The passenger window works just fine. The radio has the optional rear speaker and it works. The tachometer works but is not accurate. The clock does not work. All the other gauges work. The paint was redone sometime in the past with a clear coat in the original Avanti Red color. The paint has plenty of small chips in it but the car looks spectacular from five feet away. The chrome is nice, but I would redo the center front bumper. The Engine runs smooth as silk and has almost no oil leaks. The odometer has turned over and currently shows 2800 miles. This car gets mid to high teen mileage on road trips. Feel free to call me for any further info or if you want to come inspect the car personally. 909-714-6242 Cell phone The body tag # is RQ3396 Engine # R2888 and car serial number R4293 I have lots of documentation that will go with the car.
