Here is a 1964 Studebaker Avanti, Offered by the Vault Classic Cars, Anaheim, CA or call us at 714-401-1047 . International customers are welcome to bid ! We’ve sent many cars overseas. this 1964 Avanti was just purchased from the original family! It was sold new in Inglewood, CA in 1964, and I still have the original sales receipt from "Frank H. Afton, co, inc. Lark-Cruiser-Hawk-Mercedes" at 240 N. Market St, Inglewood, CA. The original owner, Mr. Cadena, traded in 2 , that's right, 2 Citroen Sedans on this car! It is equipped with: * 289 Studebaker V-8 * Automatic transmission * power windows ( they work SLOWWW) * power disc brakes - which work great * power steering * tinted windows * Air conditioning ( which looks authentic, but may have been added later) The car runs and drives nicely, it has good power, the brakes work well, and it gets down the road well. It's a decent car, but not a perfect one. The temp gauge doesn't work, but it doesn't act like it runs hot, I had it in a 10 mile drive in traffic, and it didn't boil or spit water. It shows good oil pressure, and the tach and speedometer work fine. I did not try the A/C, let's assume that doesn't blow cold. The battery has been relocated to the trunk. Cosmetically, the white paint job is older, - it's ok but not a show quality job. I noted a crack in the fiberglass near the right front fender and some chips and scuffs. The interior - it's complete, but it's had some work done, including DeLorean bucket seats. The original seats are included. There are a few non- authentic items on the interior, the dashpad has been redone, but it has some cracks. Even so, the ashtray still has the Avanti Plaque with Mr. Cadena's name on it! The rear window has some tinting that should be removed. Its nice and rust free, the hog troughs underneath the rocker panels are dry and rust free, as is the frame. It's a decent, rust free, complete, running driving example that would be easy to bring up to a higher standard. I have priced it accordingly to allow the buyer the ability to do the work and still come out ahead. The personalization that was done is relatively minimal, and could easily be corrected. It's a bargain, it's a 1 family car with the original sales contract, and it could be yours. If this car seems like it's too much work for you, then take a look at our other auction for a totally restored and beautiful '63 Avanti R-2 with Supercharger!
