Still have the car
went all the way  to Studebaker nationals in Colorado springs in 2014 to retrieve a back window and  front clip I needed, and been slowly accumulating other parts needed
when it is back up and running it will have a sbc 400 and a 700r4 ….unfortunately all I have been able to do so far is accumulate parts...I think I basically have all the parts to complete it, just needing time...I have 2 teenagers , 2 more years before they are out of the house...maybe I ll get some assembly time then....unless someone comes up with about $4000 between now and then and then maybe it goes to someone else
the one bad thing is I think I have established that R5006 is the first "regular production car" with square headlights and the front clip I got is round, I prefer round but historically this may be this units only claim to fame
