This is a 1964 Studebaker Avanti R-1 in excellent condition. The paint, interior, trunk, and chrome are all original (un-restored). The engine was freshened--new bearings, rings, valve grind--at 98k miles. all clearances are within factory specs. It has the automatic transmission, power brakes, power steering, and A/C options (a/c is complete but needs charging). This car was first titled in California in 1965. It was shipped from the factory in the fall of 1964 to a dealer in Lake Tahoe, CA where it sat on the showroom floor. In early 1965, it was titled by the dealer who drove the car about 27,000 miles. It was then sold, through a Placerville, CA dealer to its second owner from whom I bought the car in 2004. I am the documented third owner of R-5019. It has been in the Sacramento, CA area since new. The paint and interior are very good but some of the years show. The paint has some front rash and there are the usual chips and scratches, but few stress cracks around the usual places (corners of the hood, trunk, etc). The rear bumper has a scratch and some missing chrome at one location. It should be replated. The trunk lid has a small spot where the paint lifted off (looks like a sticker was the culprit). The interior is very good: no rips, tears, or separating seams. The headliner is excellent, as are the door and side panels, the rear package tray, the window hardware, dash and center consol. The slide out vanity is excellent as is the glove box. Carpets are excellent. Trunk carpeting is excellent. It has a AM Radio that takes a while to warm up and settle in. There is no rust in the hog troughs, or the rear cross frame piece. The motor/trans mounts are new as are the carburetor, shocks, brakes, electric aux cooling fan, rebuilt alternator, battery, pertronix ignition, water pump and converted brake master cylinder (dual circuit). Records that come with the car include: service records to 1960's, shop manual, parts manual, magazines and club newsletters, and correspondence. Also included: spare parts, and original equipment (Carter AFB carburetor, single circuit master
