Bob, I would like to compliment you on your Avanti web page and your Avanti. Both are outstanding! I have spent a lot of time on your site gathering information for my own Avanti restoration. I have a 63 R1 which I have just started a body off rebuild on. It's number 63R 1289. The car is a 36k original mile example which has either been in a barn or garage since the late 60's. My grandfather bought the car in the early 70's, planning to restore it. I finally talked my dad out of it last summer and brought it down from WV to my home in Chesapeake, VA. Many of the modifications I plan to make to my car, you've already done to yours. I plan to upgrade the brakes and suspension, possibly convert the car to either R3 or R4 power and install A/C. Other than the years of mildew and dirt the car is original and solid! I am really interested in your wheels. I didn't see that you ever said what brand they were? I was trying to find a set of the 94-96 Corvette ZR-1 style wheels that I could fit under an Avanti(and still might) but your wheels are very similar and look great. If you could send me some more info on them I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again for providing everyone with the wealth of information on your site and hope to see you and your car around VA some time. Sincerely, Rick Connolly (rc8644rc@email.msn.com) Chesapeake, VA 757-548-8659
