Custom/Modified 1963 Studebaker Avanti for sale. This car has had a lot
of time and money invested in it and is currently about 85% finished.
The car has had a frame-off restoration. The frame was coated with
POR15 and the fiberglass underbody received new undercoating. The
exterior was shot with PPG Golden Sand base coat/clear coat. The car
features an LT1 Corvette fuel injected engine and 4L60E Automatic
overdrive transmission with electronic shift control. The bumpers are
newly re-chromed. All new rubber and emblems were purchased from
Studebaker International. The chassis features aftermarket upper and
lower tubular Control Arms with Manual Flaming River Rack & Pinion
and late model disc brakes. The rear is a super low milage Dana 44 with
3.54 gearing, radius rods and new aftermarket disc brakes. The car has
all new shocks and bushings and rare aftermarket fiberglass rear leaf
springs. Late model Mustang Halibrand style wheels have been adapted
and are wrapped in new tires. A brand new Painless fuel injection
harness has been purchased. New Optima battery installed in trunk with
custom fabbed cables installed and routed. The interior is in very good
condition with new carpeting, re-dyed dash and panels. The car just had
new custom exhaust installed with new aluminized pipe and Magnaflow
mufflers. Brand new aluminum racing radiator with dual 10" cooling fans
and custom shroud. Brand new custom made driveshaft. And more...
The major stuff left to do:
-Plumb new brake lines (new stainless hard line and new flexible lines included)
-Install new Painless Harness
-Install Front and Rear Windshields with new supplied gaskets
-Install some trim, some new rubber, and a few new emblems
-Connect Powershift lever to Transmission gear select lever
-Install Door Glass and regulators(good motors included)
This car is a project, but one that is VERY close to being done
-just don't expect to have it completed in one weekend. It will likely
require more than a few in order to keep the build quality equal to
what has already been done.
I'm considering selling it only because I've moved to Kauai to start a
new business, and it's unlikely that I'll be moving back to California
anytime soon. And Hawaii isn't really the best environment for an old
car -even one that's fiberglass bodied.
The car is currently being stored in a warehouse in Chico, Ca.
I also have a 1954 Studebaker Commander Hardtop project that I'm considering selling as well.
Please feel free to contact me only if you are a serious buyer interested in knowing more.
Thanks ~Will
