1958 Studebaker Hawk Roadster: Many unique features and rare but unused accessories (see photo's) Much bodywork already done, much yet to do. This will be a "One-of-a-Kind" street rod when completed. The design was featured in the February 2003 edition of Rod & Custom Magazine. The engine is a 4-bolt Chevy 350 with 9.5 : 1, 2.02 cast iron heads and rare Edelbrock STR-10 cross-ram intake mainfold with two 600 CFM Holley 4160 double-pumpers, a Crane 280H cam with econo-roller rockers, Hooker Competition ceramic-coated headers. Dyno'd with 335 HP, 390 Lb/ft. torque. Planned to use early "Hemi" valve covers as shown in a Rod & Custom article for a fake "Hemi" look. Body was shortened 18.5 inches and sits on a '78 Malibu chassis that was shortened 6.5 inches to 102.0 inches. Disc's in front, rare aluminum drums in rear. Hotchkis "A" arms, trailing arms, coils & sway bars. '78 Z-28 Super T-10 4-speed, rebuilt 10 bolt with 3.08's, posi. & retainers, new aluminum driveshaft. Original 2-pass radiator has been re-cored to a 4-pass. All parts shown (and some not shown) in photo's are included and are NOT for sale seperately.
