Small town 50 miles east of Kansas City named Higginsville in Missouri had a dealer. It was Bennette's Motors at the corner of Walnut and 18th streets. Not sure when the dealership started but they were there til the end and kept servicing Studebakers until Mr Bennette decided to retire in the late 70's or early 80's. My folks bought a '52 4dr there new (I have a picture somewhere of me sitting on the front fender when I was about 3 yrs old) as well as a '56 President 4dr and a '65 Bermuda Brown Cruiser that later became my first car in '69. Uncle Siegmund (nicknamed Speedy since he was slow but methodical), now 91 and still kicking, worked there in the early 50's as a mechanic before defecting to the local International Truck and Tractor dealership for the remainder of his career.
