Power brakes //////Has anyone out there converted their Champ p/u to a dual circuit master cylinder? My '63 has the master cyl. on the firewall but only a single circuit. Can I use a master cyl. from a 63-66 sedan? What else would be involved? I'd like to do this for safety reasons. Thanks for any help. Dennis/////////// While dual master cylinders give an extra margin of safety, they don't perform quite as well as single cylinder units. Now, armed with that info, toss in the fact that the firewalls on suspended pedal units flex a considerable bit to the extent many T-cabs experience cracking on both, the firewall and dash. I had two trucks with those exact symptoms. The cure..... Power brakes! Master cylinders that will work are under $30 and generally are for mid 1970's jeeps with drum brakes. Several brake boosters from the 1960's up will bolt right in the existing holes. I would never again consider driving a T-cab without power brakes. All the difference in the world. And no more cracking! ============ JT you are right. The two best things I have done with my T cab is a Chevy Monza master Cyl.with power booster and the Chevy brake drums. It will stop on a dime and give back 9 cents change ============
