Feb 2006 Installing a Dual master Cylinder on an early Avanti ------------------------------------- Here is what you will need. 1 ea. NAPA/United master cylinder 36307 (or Bendix 11515; this unit fits a variety of '71-'75 Mopars, but a specific model to nail it to is a '71 Dodge Polara, 360 ci V-8) (Warning: this unit does not have the threaded hole for the pressure activated brake light switch. You will either have to drill and thread the front end of the master cylinder for that, or, better yet, convert to a mechanical switch activated under the dash by the brake pedal; this is much more reliable, especially if you use silicone brake fluid. 2 ea. 20" lengths of 3/16" tubing. (One screws into the port for the rear reservoir and goes to the junction box which now supplies only the front brakes. One screws into the front reservoir port and goes down to the line to the rear, where it is joined to that line with a union.) 1 ea. 3/16" union (NAPA# 302 x 3) to join the 20" line going from the front reservoir to the line going to the rear brakes as mentioned above. 1 ea. plug for 3/16" line (to plug the port in the junction box that the line to the rear originally screwed into). 1 ea. of two different thread reducers to go from the threads of the two master cylinder ports to the threads of the two 3/16" brake lines. (According to my receipt, the two NAPA numbers for these reducers are 7909 and 7910; yes, two different reducers are needed because the two ports out of the master cylinder are different sizes.)
