------------------------ Having not done a 4 spd conversion on a 3 spd standard shift 59 Lark before, I have the following question; maintaining the through the floor clutch pedal and using a 62 T10 4 spd trans, what clutch cross shaft bracket/support do you use? The bracket on a 3 spd bolts to the bottom of the trans. The 4 spd has no threaded bosses to bolt this to. What do I use? Do I fabricate one? Ron/////// --------------------------------- Ron, I converted my old 1960 Hardtop over to 4 speed back in the early '80's. I remember that since there never was a 4 spd Lark with through the floor pedals,I had to make a couple of small modifications. I took a 4spd Hawk clutch shaft support bracket and modified it slightly so that I could relocate it further forward than it would be mounted in the Hawk. This is the bracket that bolts to the 9 bolt curved botton side cover of the T-10 trans. I had to modify one of the legs of the bracket that would have a 5/16" bolt going through it. I also needed to have the clutch pedal cross shaft that goes from the frame over to the support bracket shortened slightly. It may have been only a 1/2" or so . It was an absolute bitch to cut. I tried and I couldn't cut it. This is some really tough steel ! Also a new hole had to be drilled into the shaft as well. I had to farm this out to a machine shop. This is a relatively simple job with the right tools. You will need a mig welder to modify the support bracket, and a machine shop to modify the cross shaft. Also the driveshaft yoke is different on the 4speed as well from what I remember, that will have to be changed. I do not remember what I used for a driveshaft or if it was the same length. I don't think it was. I may have used one from an automatic trans lark and changed the yoke. I also installed a Dana #44 rear as well. You will be happy with this modification it was well worth the time to do it. Enjoy your Lark. Also get a traction bar kit for it as well. You will need it. Joe Flannery
