e any of them LSC's or were they all standard size coupes? The serial numbers of the Anniversary cars are supposed to be 12AAV3241J1000301 to 12AAV3241J1000331. All 88 Silver Anniversary cars were LSC's. They started with 301 which I owned and is now in Oregon. There were supposed to be 50 Cars produced. The actual number was 27 but there is some conflict with that number. The first 5 were done on El Camino Chassis and the rest stretched Monte Carlo Chassis. All the cars were exactly alike except two had red interior(?) and the first 25 had superchargers. There were only 25 with superchargers because that is the # Avanti purchased from Paxton. Mike's prototype in Villa Rica has a supercharger and I think J.J.'s had red interior but can't be sure of that and probably had a supercharge so probably only 23 production cars had superchargers. Avanti then and now did not always build cars in sequence. If they had a rush order they would move a car with a Lower # in front of cars with higher #'s. The only way to know is to go to the build sheets and find the date completed. I hope this is of some information. Ernest Edwards" Feb 2001 I own a 88 LSC serial number 12AAV322J1000254 according to the build sheets, there were two LSC's ordered in 1988, but only one true one was produced, which I happen to own. Irwin Zagin 88LSC Irwin, I'm looking at an original brochure for 1987. The correct wording is Luxury Sport Coupe. For those who have never seen an LSC, the car is 9 inches longer in the rear seat area. When I had my car redone, and they dropped the entire headliner, you could clearly see the seam where the standard coupe panels were joined by an extended piece. ----------- I have to imagine that this "LSC" topic is pretty boring to most yahoo subscribers. However, as an owner of one I am really interested in finding out what is what. I think the quarter window subject is pretty easy: if the quarter window opens it is_ not_ an LSC. Luckily I have glass ones. My question is why did not all LSCs have the surrounds? 88 anniversary were all coupes, except one LSC which is a stretch and was extended by nine inches.  According to the build sheet that I have a copy of, I own the only 88 LSC, which is nine inches longer and is in two tone. I repeat all 88 Silver Anniversary Models are "Stretch Coupes" which I take to mean all 88 Anniversary Models are LSC's but not all 88 LSC's are Anniversary Models as Irwin has stated.   My 87 LSC has swing out windows with standard, original design, Avanti latching hardware. Where did anyone get the idea that these windows were sealed. Irwin, baby, I wouldn't believe any Avanti build sheet for accuracy. Maybe they built all the 88 LSC's in 87, doesn't that still make them 88 models. My LSC is # 84 and the production order is dated 2/16/87. If there weren't any cars built in 1986, does that mean that they scheduled 83 cars between 1/1/87 and 2/16/87. I think not. The people who made up the VIN #'s probably practiced some kind of voodoo numerology. I don't think any of the build sheets really mean anything. Just enjoy the car. Roy Steiner There were no 87 Anniversary Cars .87 would have been the 24th year not 25th. To the best of my knowledge the first LSC was built for Mr. Kasterica(sp) from Chicago. He told Mike Kelly that he liked the car but wanted more room in the back for passengers and would pay $10K extra for the room. That car is now owned by Arnie Hoskovec in Kansas City, Mo. He also has the only 88 convertible with a supercharger so there may have been only 24 Anniversary cars with superchargers. Incidently, the 88 Convertible was also owned by Mr. Kasterica who now lives in Southern California. From the conversations on this net there seems to be several #1 LSC's, Who Knows?
