You will have to- but not remove the springs from the shackles. You will need a 1/2" longer spring bolt for each side. > Ray do you have any pearls of wisdom on the shims that go between the body > and frame? What I have done in the past is to put the shims back where they > came from. When I got this car the frame was separated from the body and all > the shims are missing. I have the shims from the GT Hawk that I can use. Basically, there is (1) rubber shim in each frame mount(top of frame rail- and rear crossmember). All the rest(frame "outriggers", crossmembers) are made up of (1) rubber mount- and 1-4 steel shims. The rubber mount ALWAYS goes on top. When you set the body on, you need to mount the doors, center them, then shim the frame to make the doors fit. This includes the 2 main cowl braces (against firewall, and the 2 "wing" (hinge pillar) ends. Both will directly affect the way the doors fit. On a hardtop- pay particular attention to the frame outriggers for the hogtroughs. The secret is to shim the body to make the doors fit correctly... otherwise.. you will have water leaks and wind noise. Ray
