March 2006 ----------- /////////who knows of a good place to send a power brake booster////// --------- READ ALL OF THIS FIRST ----------------------- I can have yours rebuilt for $200 exchange/$15.00 UPS. /JP -------------------- Ed Strain in Florida at 800-266-1623 markhamb@earthlink.net ------------------- Ed Strain has been advertising in Hemmings for years. I don't know how he still gets business. His "rebuild" consists of cleaning up the unit and repainting it (and not a very good repaint at that). When you install the unit and find it does not work, uninstall and disassemble,,, you find that he has not even replaced the soft parts. I don't think he even takes the unit apart. Think about it: Hemmings circulation, over 200,000; he gets 1% response = 2000 @ charges over $150; a tidy sum. My comment is from direct experience with a common tredle-vac found on Chevrolets. Wish I could remember the guy who did my 63 Avanti booster many, many years ago. He was good. dwcars@bellsouth.net ------------- I agree, as I had a hydrovac rebuilt by Ed and it came back as bad as it went. I sent it back to him and he simply told me it was ok and sent it back. I then had it rebuilt by Midwest Rebuilders in Chicago. This one works! Mike W. ---------------- I just checked and I actually still have the one Ed "rebuilt" He charged me $200 and if anyone wants it with his tags still on it I will gladly sell it for the $200 plus shipping. It does have a nice paint job. Mike W. ----------------
