removing the fan clutch and fan from my '63 Avanti and adding a Flex-o-lite seven blade flex fan/.... I need a one inch spacer but can't find one that fits the water pump./////////////// -------------- the Avanti water pump has a bigger hole, so even Studebaker spacers will not work. I've always just used the fan clutch since I can't stand the fan noise without it anyway. -----How about using a Stude spacer and boring the hole in the flex fan bigger? Should work OK as the drill bit/ream/whatever you use should center itself in the existing hole as you enlarge it. ------ http://www.dottygale.com/ta/spacer1.jpg Depends on weather I can got the flex fan to work. ------ I'm thinking get a spacer for the regular solid fan for a Stude car *without* a clutch fan, then mod your flex fan to work with *that.* ------ I did this on my Avanti and used the Sudebaker spacer used on the non-Avanti Studes. ----- had a old V8 4 bladed fan around the yard, that had a 1 inch spacer. .I knocked the spacer off, flattened the face on a gringing wheel, and used it. Works and fits like a glove. Jim in Tulsa ------ /ransmiss
