Sep 2004 ///// Is a Ferd 9" rear a fairly easy drop-in under a Stude? ///// Yes, you need to move the spring pads and make sure it's the correct width. jp ==== a '64-66 mustang, 64-65 Falcon/comet, '57-'59 Ford, but the Torino is waaaay too wide. OCF == The '57-'59's are the narrowest 9 inch Ferds made.Upgrade to '64 backing plates to get wider brake shoes. Bob40 ======= Sep 2004 //////Anyone know of a bolt-in replacement for a 52 champ rear end, or at least minimum modification? I would like to go to rear disk, and can't afford the $700 kit. //////// ----------- S-10/ S-15/ SMALL FORD RANGER/ MAZDA B series.(early - mid '80's) oldcarfart@aol.com (Oldcarfart) ------- I'm not sure of the width of the '52's, but for '53 and up C & K bodies, the S10/S15 is the correct width, especially if you want to run some fat rubber. From about '96 and later, many are disk brake equipped. You w/want to search for a 2WD version, as the 4WD version is wider, or maybe that w/work for you. They aren't very expensive at salvage yards, and they are reasonably strong, especially if you find one w/28 spline axles. I believe all w/disk brakes versions are 28 spline. You w/of course, need to move the spring perches. And, of course, you w/have GM 4 3/4" bold pattern hubs. I'm using a 96 2WD in a '55 C body I'm building. Stan "tempestan" -------------------
