----------------------------------- Once again I am compelled to jump in. After installing two chevy motors into 63 Avantis I can offer this. Use the origional motor mounts used on the Larks with Chevy motors, bolt right in. Block hugger headers are neat and work well. If you use a turbo350 or 400 trans you can make a single plate that will hold the stock chevy trans mount and bolt it to the short cross member. The stock shifter will work with a little longer linkage. The challenge is in fitting a air filter. You must use the shortest intake manifold possible. Also, the chevy engine will weigh about 150 lbs. less, so the front end will sit higher. I usually cut the front springs one coil, but this is a compromise. Shorter springs and shortening the travel limiter (rubber cone shaped thing), restores the rake, but not the ride. A GM power steering pump works with the rest of the stock power steering system, but you will have to use a similar size pulley or you will have problems.
