///////// The driver-side window (manual/crank windows) on my R1 would sink about 3/8-1/2" after driving for more than 5 minutes. I would crank it back up, but it would settle back down again.   Identified the problem as a weak winder regulator spring.  tried to install it. The old spring released its tension.  Much as I have tried, I cannot figure out how to install the new spring///////

I swear I did it in place - mounted the hardware, put the spring in place (slot for inner end of spring) and painstakingly wound it with needle nose plyers, hooked the outer end where it goes, and sold the car.

1) remove the old regulator  from the door,  What you have to remember, is that the spring is used to help the window wind UP!......
