Vehicle Description I purchased this Avanti from the Avanti Motor Company. It was in reasonably good condition at that time. Initially, I had my mechanic do a “major tune” on the engine including rebuilding the carburetor. He reported that the compression was good, it runs strong, and the supercharger was working fine. The brake system was checked and works fine. The odometer shows 17K+ miles, which I must assume is 117K. I was not happy with the exterior of the car, so I took it to our paint and body person. He addressed the issues with the body which were not major, and then it was painted as close to the original color as is possible. It came out great, as you can see from the photos. For many more pictures, go to www.picturetrail.com/wishlee123, and click on the Studebaker Avanti photo album. The chrome is in very good condition. The interior was in remarkably good condition, so all that was done was to do a good cleaning and add the Avanti floor mats. The extensive photos show the condition of the car , which demonstrates that it is solid, and a great driver. I did purchase new external rear view mirrors. My intention was to do some more “upgrades” to the car, which were to include the following: change the tires (preferably narrow red lines), I don’t like the wide whitewalls, and they are to big; get the tack and boost gauge working properly; and possibly tighten the front suspension. I have simply run out of time, as we are going to do some extensive traveling, and I do not want to just store the car. It does come with an additional set of original hubcaps (pictured). As it sits, this is a great driver/cruiser, and one that will continue to appreciate in value. The description is honest and accurate, however do to its age, this vehicle is sold as is, with no warranty expressed or implied. I can assist the buyer in making very competitive shipping arrangements, however payment is the responsibility of the buyer.
