Modified email from Steve Capamaggio - Upstate, NY - Oct 2019

I was looking to find an Avanti I used to own and ran across your registry. I had 63R1557 body number 63RQ743. Your registry shows an R2 1557.

This car was sold new in Williamson NY a suburb of Rochester NY and ended up in Rochester NY where I found it. 

My understanding was the first owner had it for almost 20 years and the second owner for around ten but he never put it on the road because of structural issues as the first owner drove it year round and the salt and sand from Rochester winters took its toll. 

I purchased it around 1990, restored it as best I could and drove it for a number of summers around Western NY where I lived. 

I sold it to someone around Winston Salem NC around 1999-2001.

It was an original White car but the first owner had it repainted Turquoise....
