1963 R1 automatic transmission

Owned since 1970 by Kathy Morgan registered and titled to Ronald and Kathryn Purviance since they were married in 1983. Austin (Manchaca) Texas 1970-1996 Leadville Colorado 1996-present

. My mother bought it in 1970 in Austin, Texas. My father like to joke that he married my mom to get the car. It had been painted green I believe so she had it painted back to the original Gold color. My father rebuilt the engine in the late 80's early 90's. Some of my earliest memories are sitting in the drivers seat pretending to drive. It remained it Austin till 1996 when we moved to a small town in the Colorado Rockies called leadville at an elevation of 10,200 ft where it is today, minus a few years in a garage in Fruita, Colorado when my folks owned a home. I believe my father had to Jet the carb for the extreme altitude in Leadville. Around the year 2000 my parents had the transmission rebuilt out of necessity. When I turned 16 I drove it around when mom allowed me and took it to junior and senior prom. To my knowledge it has all original parts except the fuel pump. It still runs well even at high altitude. They occasionally take it to car shows in the Rockies during summer. Several years It has been driven in the Boom Days parade in leadville that celebrates leadville's mining history every August. My father took it to the Boom Days car show last weekend.
