63R1005 is an Avanti Gold/Elk, R1/4 speed car and was the first R1 Avanti built. It was sold to the Engineering Dept. of Studebaker on Appropriation. The first titled owner was a Studebaker employee. I have hands-on experience with this car and it has always been within 50 miles of South Bend.
