The car is a 63 model ID# 63R2585' Eng.# RS1704, numbers match , w/ PS, PB, Auto Floor Shift, restored in 97 with new p aint and overhaul and interior at that time. Has some paint isssues now...cracks etc (Avanti Red which I call burgundy) and lite grey and burgundy interior. Its got 97000 miles but runs out real good and is solid after being "converted" to an R1 after the SC was removed.....it is locked up and needs rebuild, but it and all parts are there to restore. It has all the chrome under the hood as a R2 should have....needs a hood liner, has aftermarket vinyl liner now. The battery has been mounted in the trunk for whatever reason (I understand it was done before the tray was restored and not put back) but works and charges fine from there. The car is titled as a 64, which I understand Studebaker did in those years for cars that didn't sell right away. It has a clear Tennessee title in my name. I bought it sight unseen from a club member in Florida in April and they broght it up to me and I'm quite satisfied with it but now will not be able to return it to R2 which was my plan as a project. It has new tires, but they have some years on them, good tread and WW. Origianal style wheel covers in nice shape, excellent or new exh.extensions as original, all glass is good and working windows ,manual, Has been tuned and runs out good, I had put in new lower A Frame bushings in, the rest of front end is fairly tight.
