THIS CAR IS ONE OF THE 4643 ORIGINAL AVANTI'S MADE. THE ORIGINAL AVANTI'S WERE ONLY MADE FROM JUNE OF 1962 TO DECEMBER OF 1963. THIS CAR ACCORDING TO THE VIN NUMBER WAS ABOUT 3/4 OF THE WAY THROUGH THE PRODUCTION. SOME OF THE OTHER OPTIONS ON THIS CAR INCLUDE: A/C, AM RADIO, PS, & PB. IT HAS THE STANDARD R-1 289CI., 240HP, V-8 IN IT WITH AUTOMATIC TRANS. IT DOES NOT RUN OR DRIVE BUT IT ROLLS EASILY AND WOULD BE EASY TO LOAD ON A TRAILER OR TRANSPORT TRUCK . IT HAS ITS ORIGINAL MOTOR AND TRANS AND A CLEAN & CLEAR GEORGIA TITLE. THIS CAR WAS BOUGHT NEW IN TEXAS IN THE SUMMER OF 1963. IN 1976 IT WAS TAKEN OFF THE ROAD AND STORED ( I BELIEVE THE MILEAGE IS CORRECT AT 45,000). IN 1978 A GENTLEMAN FROM GEORGIA BOUGHT IT AND TRANSPORTED IT TO GEORGIA. HE WAS GOING TO RESTORE IT AND NEVER DID. IT SUBSEQUENTLY SAT IN HIS GARAGE IN GEORGIA FROM 1978 TILL 2008. WHEN THE GENTLEMAN IN GEORGIA BOUGHT THE CAR IT WAS SITTING IN A BODY SHOP JUST THE WAY YOU SEE IT NOW. THE BODY ON THIS CAR HAS NOT BEEN TOUCHED SINCE 1978. THE ORIGINAL COLOR OF THIS CAR WAS GOLD AND SOMEONE PAINTED IN YELLOW SOME TIME IN THE PAST AND IT LOOKS LIKE IT WAS BEING PREPARED FOR PAINT AGAIN AND THEN WORK WAS STOPPED. WHEN I BOUGHT IT THE MOTOR AND TRANS WHERE NOT IN IT. I SET THE MOTOR AND TRANS BACK IN THE CAR A FEW MONTHS AGO JUST SO IF SOMEONE BOUGHT IT AND NEEDED TO HAVE IT TRANSPORTED IT IS ONE COMPLETE PACKAGE AND IS READY TO BE TRANSPORTED. I WAS TOLD THE SECOND OWNER REBUILT THE MOTOR IN THE EARLY 80'S, BUT BECAUSE IT HAS BEEN SITTING FOR SUCH A LONG TIME IT SEEMS TO BE STUCK. IT PROBABLY JUST NEEDS TO HAVE SOME MARVEL MYSTERY OIL PUT IN THE CYLINDERS AND ALLOWED TO SOAK AND IT WOULD PROBABLY TURN OVER. I HAVE INCLUDED SOME PICTURES (BELOW) OF THE BOTTOM OF THIS CAR TO SHOW THAT THE HOG TROUGHS ARE SOLID AS A ROCK WITH NO RUST EVER. THEY JUST HAVE SOME LIGHT SURFACE RUST ON THEM FROM BEING STORED FOR YEARS. THIS IS THE TYPICAL, DRY TEXAS CLEAN CAR. IT IS VERY SOLID WITH ONLY VERY MINOR SURFACE RUST. THE GLASS, STAINLESS TRIM, AND CHROME TRIM ARE ALL IN VERY GOOD CONDITION AND THE HUBCAPS ARE NEAR MINT. THE FIBERGLASS BODY ON THIS CAR IS REALLY NICE EXCEPT FOR A COUPLE OF REPAIRED AREAS, ON TOP OF THE FRONT FENDERS BY THE HOOD ABOVE THE FRONT WHEELS,( THE PERSON THAT REPAIRED IT HAD NO IDEA WHAT HE WAS DOING) AND A COUPLE LITTLE CRACKS BY THE TAILIGHT AREA, I RESTORE CARS FOR A LIVING AND I LIKED THAT THE CAR HAD ALL THE PAINT OFF IT SO I COULD SEE THE BODY. BESIDES THE CRAPPY REPAIR SOMEBODY DID ON THE FRONT AREAS 30 PLUS YEARS AGO, THE BODY IS REAL NICE FOR ITS AGE, THERE IS NOTHING TO HIDE, THE MAJORITY OF THE PAINT IS OFF AND IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR LOOKING AT. THE INTERIOR OF THIS CAR IS IN PRETTY GOOD SHAPE FOR 46 YEARS OLD. THE GAUGES ARE NICE AND NO CRACKS IN THE DASH. THIS CAR IS PRETTY COMPLETE EXCEPT FOR THE FOLLOWING: PARTS THAT ARE MISSING, CARB, AIR CLEANER , SURGE TANK, GRILL, AC CONDENSOR , 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD, FLY WHEEL, AND A COUPLE OF OTHER MISC. SMALL PARTS, HOSES ETC. . I WOULD SAY THE CAR IS 95% COMPLETE. ///////////// ALL THE FACTORY AC PARTS ARE THERE EXCEPT THE CONDENSOR..
