1963 Studebaker Avanti Raymond Loewy styling, aircraft inspired 4-seat interior, fiberglass Avanti coupe is one of 3834 produced in its inaugural year. California Black Plate, completely rust free, R1 version with the 240-HP 289 CID V-8 and automatic transmission. Factory air conditioning and it blows ice cold. A very nice survivor that, over the years, has had restoration as needed. Vehicle shows 47,673 miles on the odometer, believed to be accurate and original miles, but I do not have any supporting documentation. This DREAMSICLE combination of white exterior and orange interior is one of the most desirable combinations, used as the cover car for magazine advertisements in 1963. Exterior is in very nice condition, no stress cracking and no fading. The interior vinyl, dash and trim are in excellent condition. All of the head liner appears original including the covering around the factory integrated roll bar and is in very nice condition. Coco mats cover original type carpet that has darkened with age. Factory Studebaker original equipment seat belts. Engine starts easily, runs fine, no smoke. Transmission shifts smoothly, no problems with the Dana Twin Traction rear end. The tires look new. Underneath the car is clean and dry. There is no sign of rust in the hog troughs or anywhere else. Very nice driving and handling car, power brakes, power steering, plenty of power with the 240 HP V-8. I am reducing the rolling stock before I retire and loose my free storage space.
