You are bidding on a 1990 AVANTI STUDEBAKER owned by the owner of Avanti from 1988-1991 J.J. 
Cafaro

 

On September 1, 1998 J.J Cafaro announced he had purchased the remaining assests of the new 
Avanti Motor Corporation and was the sole owner. The company was moved to Youngstown, Ohio, 
and cars through early 1991

 

This car has been sitting at his MD residence for about 13 years until recentely when my 
father (a Cafaro employee) has become the new owner of the car. The title has been signed 
by Mr. Cafaro, but never registered with MVA so the only owner was Mr. Cafaro.

 

Cafaro's operation managed 150 Avantis in 1988 and some 350 in 1989. Most were the standard
 coupe. The 1990 target was 500 cars, but actual output was much lower.

 

 

The car is in good shape and needs some work. The car runs and sounds great. We would keep 
the car, but we dont have the time to work on it since my father recently had a brain 
aneurysm and life has changed a little bit.

      The major stuff such as engine, transmission, etc. can be worked on by any GM dealer.

 

Car needs minor front end body work and could use a paint job. the front brakes have a leak, 
the rear right side tail pipe is missing. The radio works fine, but the cassette player does
 not. The power seats, windows and all the electrical inside the car works great. The key for
 the doors are missing. This car is awesome and turns heads everytime we take it on the road.
