Rare and Solid 1966 Avanti II survivor. I believe only about 45 were made that year and I am the 3rd owner. Owned it for about 5 years. Previous owners were long terms owners about 19 years each. Strong 327 engine which previous owner rebuilt. We rebuilt the transmission about 500 miles ago. Selling the car as we are thinning out our collection. Currently own a variety of other cars which are also for sale. Mechanically the car is in excellent shape, all the mechanical systems have been reviewed by our collection's mechanics. Not sure if air conditioning works although all components are there. Tires are new, probably less than 400 miles. Brakes are in good shape. Battery was placed in the trunk by previous owner. Exhaust is new and emits a nice sound, not obnoxious, but lets you know there is a healthy engine underneath. Mileage shows 17,153 on the odometer, but we do not know if it is actual. Gold paint is okay, presentable, but about a 15 footer. There is a crack in the fiberglass next to the front left headlight which is shown in the pictures. Hog troughs are solid as is the whole undercarriage and overall car. Interior is in good shape, with the exception of a tear in the drivers seat which was covered by the previous owner with tape. The interior is a very unique, tan , vinyl which gives the impression of being worn, but it is not. Headliner is a square pattern material which is original. I dont think anyone has ever smoked in the car. I apologize for the pictures which were taken in a dusty building where portions of our collection is kept. Due to weather, I did not take the care out to get it washed. Please review the pictures and let us know if you have any questions. Email us questions or call me on my cell, Steve at 708-205-2043. The car is available for your inspection and we will do what we can to help you through out the purchase. We want the Avanti II to go to a good home where someone will care for it. It has been cared for through out its life and we wish it to continue that way. We would like the winning bidder to send us a $500 non refundable deposit so we receive it within three days of auction end. Pickup to be within 10 days of auctions end, unless other arrangements are made. All payments must clear our account prior to the car being released to new owner. Winning bidder will be responsible for pick up at our location in Michigan City, Indiana, but we are willing to help us much as possible. Car is sold as is.
