This Avanti was Custom built at the original Avanti plant in South Bend. It was
 the tenth Avanti off the assembly line being hand built with every possible
 option included in 1979. These are not kit cars---they were assembled at the
 original Studebaker Avanti plant. This rare find has spent all it's life in the
 desert of Arizona. Therefore, it has never had any rust issues ever. The 
Chevrolet Corvette L-82 engine has great performance and reliability with only
 54,500 original miles.

After winning the Concourse De Elegance in South Bend with our 1963 R2 Avanti,
 I was looking for another Avanti to work on. I found this one in an airport
 hanger being stored there because of too many speeding tickets. The Arizona
 owner just parked it along side his airplanes and there it sat for about 10 
years.

What I have done since my ownership.

1. New complete front and rear brake upgrade. (Turner style front disc- brakes
 and larger rear drums.)

2. Rebuilt power brake booster and master cyl.

3. New suspension-front and rear. Front has G.M. progressive coil springs

4. New gas shocks

5. Front end completely rebuilt with Delcron bushings.

6  The engine has a new fuel pump, waterpump,starter motor and complete tune-up
 with all new fan belts.

7. The 4 barrel carb was rebuilt.

8. Gas tank was boiled out and a leak proof sealer added with a new Stewart-Warner
 sending unit installed.

9. Transmission service with all new fluids

10. New Corvette rims with new BF Goodrich TA's installed with less then 1,000 
miles on them.
