Bob's Studebaker Resource Website

From The Ohio Digital Archives Thomas Eritano (Ohio.gov)

The county records indicate this was built in 1915. /A fire around 1920 destroyed many records so unfortunately the attachments are all I could find. I scanned to first one twice hoping for better clarity. \ The 1928 City Directory indicates Mankin-Ferris was still there

The date of renovation by Kemp Brothers is 7/21/48.

From Fred Stuckmann, Akron Ohio (April 2012)

This info is from the Akron 1928 directory.

Mankin-Ferris sold Studebakers as well as Erskine automobiles from that building.
CE Mankin was President, J.A. Rishel was VP, H.E. Ferris was sec and treas.

The building was built (renovated?) in 1928 and in 1939 Kemp Bros. opened a Lincoln/ Mercury
In 1948 Kemp employed Florence Vance (Architect) to widen part of the dealership. They were eventually replaced by Toth Buick, then Costigan (furniture). Not sure if there was anyone else in the building in the interim periods.
