1964 GT Hawk, Factory A/C The tale of the $100.00 Radiator hose....
This is Part II of the issue with the A/C pulleys not having matching diameters. The WP pulley is 5.875 and the crank 6.375. The Water pump has 2 pulleys,number 1 being the alternator, fan, crank at 6.375" and number 2 is the A/C compressor, fan and crank at 5.875". The WP pulley (1558639 factory WP Pulley) is not turning a the same ratio as the second WP pulley (6.375) and causing noise, loss of power, etc. So an idler pulley was installed to alleviate the contention between the belts.
Now, with the pulley issue resolved, it introduced a new one, as the A/C idler pulley has the new belt routed too close to the upper radiator hose and it rubs. The hose had to be rerouted, so the use of silicone material was opted for.

Here's what we're starting with..
Even with the adjustment , the new idler pulley is minimally touching the old WP pulley and eventually will clash.....
so it was removed....
Trying everything out proved ok...
Also removed and replaced the French Lock with 2 fabricated wedge keepers
Replaced the viscous fan....
Back in business...
...And the crank pulleys will also be changed out for the VA double and a new Alternator/fan pulley
