Dana 44 pinion seal / bearing =========== The seal is a CR # 15788 and you should install a Speedi-Sleeve #99155 on the shaft to get maximum seal life. The front pinion bearing is a CR# BR02872 / BR02820 The rear pinion bearing is a CR # BR31594 / BR31520 I would not recommend canging just the outer pinion bearing cone without changing the outer race. If it is only a leaking seal, then change only the seal. If the seal leak was caused by excessive pinion movement due to wear or bearing adjustment. You'd better go through the whole ritual, or a roadside visit will be headed your way. Yes, there are special tools to do Dana differentials, but they've been around for a gazillion years and a lot of rental yards have case spreaders and dial indicators. The hardest thing to do on a Dana is set the pinion depth, but with the tools, it really isn't hard...Just tedious. What isn't tedious on a Stude? Do yourself a favor.....Do the whole job right the first time. Jeff Dec 2003
