  In my opinion, the WD-40 sold in the 2020's is nothing like the original. Some time during those early days, I read that they used (Sperm) whale oil in the formula and they certainly cannot use that today. It was good then but not as a lubricant. It was a water-displacer (WD) and if your distributor got got wet, you only had to spray a shot of this under the cap and it eliminated any moisture, enough to fire up the engine and get going. Might only be good for that purpose today, but on connectors vs a distributor... |
