WHEELS - American Motors wheels fit better than Ford or Chrysler

WHLINS - 1990 Wheel Inserts - These are the center caps for alloy wheels 
- They measure 6.25" and are brushed aluminum on plastic. They are imprinted 
"American Racing" and look/work perfectly. They are CHEAP.  Set of four for 
about $25.00!

WHEELS - If you have an Auto Wheel and Rim Service Co. near you or a local
 equivalent, Ford Ranger 4x4 base wheels NWRA # 40273( $36.75ea +tax in 
Clarksville, IN).  May seem expensive, but junkyard wheels are possibly bent,
 out of round etc., so I prefer new wheels .  I bolted one on yesterday and 
the small lug nuts(stock stude ) fit fine.  The wheel looks stock but has 4 
small hub cap bumps instead of three.  The small Stude caps wont fit, but full
 covers will.


15x6 NWRA # 40273  Ford Ranger 4x4 base wheels. Stude small hubcaps wont fit

but full wheel covers will.   You cannot use the same Stude lugnuts with these 

wheels, as the hole and bevel on the wheel is different.  The thread size is still 1/2" X 20(tpi), but the lugnuts need to be 3/4". The Stude lugnut is smaller
Not all rangers had 15" wheels. The 2x's came with 14"s.
