Apr 2005 I replaced my inoperative hydraulic stoplight switch with a standard plunger type today. Probably the easiest change I ever made. If anyone is interested...Standard part # SLS66, a piece of flat stock about 1 1/4" wide, some wire and connectors. I used some flat stock I had laying around that had holes in it already it isn't necessary but it made it even easier. I cut it on an angle so it would orient the switch dead center on the brake pedal. The existing hole in the factory pedal support is a little to the left of the pedal. The 3/8 holes in the stock are perfect for bolting it to the pedal support using a 5/16 bolt. I used a nylon self locking nut and put the bolt head on the pedal side. I didn't want the bolt interfering with the pedal. The plunger hole needs to be 1/2" so you'll have to drill. Once the bracket and plunger are bolted up adjust the plunger so the pedal pushes the button in when your foot is off. It should be pushed in all the way but the pedal should also be at the end of its natural travel. Easiest way to do it is to set everything up and turn the nuts that come with the switch so the switch rests fully against the pedal with the button all the way in. If your factory harness is intact at the stoplight switch you can buy male terminal ends that will plug onto the female terminals that were attached to your factory switch. If the ends are loosed or cracked at the insulation I would just splice or butt connect the wires that will extend into the interior. I wrapped mine pretty with electrical tape and put them through the firewall where the speedo cable comes out. Then it's simply a matter of cutting them to length and putting female spade connectors on the ends. There is no wrong way to put them on they can go on either terminal at the switch. Check the operation making sure the lights are off when your foot is off the pedal and that they come on at the slightest touch. I've posted pictures of the installation in the "Photos" section on the group site along with some pictures of the car itself. I need to get the bumpers on and some trim installed but the car is getting close to completion. I won't use the word "finished", I know better! Ernie R2 R5388
