Stude heater core replacement - Modine heater part # 4R702257 - 1/4inch longer than the original stude unit. - the tubes were exact to the openings on the fan housing outlet - Solder the stude brackets off center to the Modine unit, more offset to let the core sit deeper into the housing. - cut 1/4 inch excess off one bracket side and redrill the mounting holes to match the original size. Refastened the two screws that hold it inside fan housing. Under the dash cavity, one side fit perfectly, the other side would not seat. Problem was that 1/4 inch oversize was just enough to not let it clear the cavity wall. (one could just add insultaion foam and let the replacement new heater core float inside the housing without soldering the original brackets on.) The new heater core was only $45 and commonly used for 80's Chevrolet trucks. It also carries GM part number GM9079, also available as o Everco h-2198 and 4 Season 94553. ONE outlet on this core is of different diam. than the other as opposed to the original Stude piece being both the same size. Slip a piece of thinwall rubber tubing over the smaller outlet to make it match the other one. StudeBob Kabchef Studefarming in CA
