Ok. The solution to the following problems have cost me three days, bouncing my forehead off the emergency brake (pointy) end... twice... blood, scar, possible (slight I hope) brain damage, so if this saves you the same, here goes.
I had three problems on this great 6V, + ground car:
1. My green lenses had both fallen off.
2. I would get a initial bright flash on the indicators, and then, they would both get dim, but still both flash.
3. Turn left or right and everything on the outside worked fine but, [u]both indicators </u> flashed!?!?!?
Solutions:
1. I found a vitamine bottle at my local store that was the exact same green, used hobbie shop super glue, let it flash-off, cleaned'em, reinstaled. Perfect.
2. Replaced the old flasher with a new one. I had an older "Wagner" heavy-duty one and it took to much voltage to flash it.
3. The new (three prong 6V) flashers, that I seem to be able to buy, flash all three outputs. My shop manual shows: an input from the ignition switch, one wire going to the turn signal switch and two wires going to the indicators and then through the front turn signals, then to ground.
The fix is to cap-off the two wire flasher out-put, let the turn signal switch send the pulse to the front turn signal lights, tapped-off through the indicators, and ground the indicators second wire. Left will flash Left and Right will flash Right!
The only explaination for this that I have is: The new flashers use the two wire out-put for emergency flashers and the old flashers were wired in a different manner?
Hope this helps someone...
